Kasparov-Kramnik Blitz Match

Garry Kasparov and Vladmir Kramnik played a 24 game blitz match sponsored by the Internet Chess Club in The Casino of the Kosmos Hotel in Moscow. They played 12 games on Friday 27 November and the remaining 12 games on Saturday 28 November 1998 for the prize of 24,000 US dollars. Each player started with 5 minutes on his clock.

At the end of Day 1 Kramnik was leading by 6.5 points to 5.5 after 4 wins, 3 losses and 5 draws. However, on Day 2 Kasparov managed to pull back and tie the match. Both players went home with 12,000 US dollars.
